After recently hiring two senior developers, we are looking for one more to join our team.

We have just started an initiative to modernise our Engineering Function
We work in a fast paced Agile environment and are passionate about clean code

Accelo Engineering is revitalising! We have recently embarked on a journey to modernise how we deliver on our promise to delight both our customers and ourselves.  This initiative will affect the way we interact with each other, the tools we use and our architecture. We are looking for several Senior Software Developers to help us achieve these goals and outcomes. If this sounds like a mission you’d love to be a part of, then we'd love to hear from you.

About Us

Founded in Wollongong, Accelo is a venture-backed SaaS company whose mission is to help service businesses succeed. Our clients are folks like digital agencies, engineers and consultants, and our leading business automation tool allows them to spend less time managing their work so they have more time doing the work they love. With so much of that work now remote, Accelo helps teams collaborate and master remote work by providing a single place to track and manage work.

With nearly 100 staff across three teams in Wollongong, Denver and San Francisco, our Wollongong team is home to all of our product design, development, QA, security and systems team members.

We are looking to scale up, and we need skilled senior level developers to help us in this quest.

What you’ll be doing

Our senior developers provide specialist programming support, leadership, technical guidance and strategy to various initiatives for our engineering team.

In this role, you’ll be an agent of change, identifying and implementing improvements to technology, practice and process within the team or broader organisation.

You’ll focus on maintaining and improving our Accelo product and engineering function, as well as sharing knowledge and skills regarding development in a modern engineering team with other developers.

We build with ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, GraphQL, Perl and more, and in this role you’ll be instrumental in helping us to redefine the roadmap for our future technology needs.

About you

  • Proven experience as a professional software development engineer.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, though applicants with extensive experience may not need this.
  • Comprehensive portfolio of work and outcomes demonstrating software development practice and acumen. Demonstrable application of principles, practices and patterns associated with writing good quality software systems centred upon enduring data models.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • A flair for solving problems and coming up with innovative solutions.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate and influence team members and stakeholders of varying backgrounds, levels and abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with attention to detail and precision. A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
